Our project to improve hygiene standards in milk production and processing has made good progress over the past 6 months. The milk collection point was renovated. In future, hot water will be produced using a solar panel provided by Zambesi Health. New freezers have been purchased.
The milk cans ordered from Berlin have been picked up by Athens in Lusaka and brought to Kazungula. Today, the first cans were handed out to the dairy farmers who had built Tippy Taps as agreed.
In the meantime, 32 of the 44 milk cans have been handed over. The dairy farmers were invited to the Council Lodge on Wednesday for a training session on milking hygiene.
