Support our One Health project

March 08, 2018 – Another trip to Zambia

Today on 08.03.2018, the International Women’s Day (a public holiday in Zambia), Saskia, the CEO of Zambesi Health and Rike, supporting member and veterinary colleague, fly to Namibia and Zambia for almost 2 weeks to check the progress of the project we support to improve hygiene in milk production and bottling in Kazungula, Zambia and to to hand over to the farmers the milk churns that have now been paid for but still have to be transported from Lusaka to Kazungula.

In August 2017, we agreed that those who build a Tippy Tap would receive a milk transport can and a milking bucket from us. We have received 27 photos of home-made Tippy Taps for hand washing and are moving in line with an initiative that promotes hand washing. In the meantime, after extensive research, we have found a company in Lusaka from which we were able to buy 40 milk cans, but their transport over 550 km to Kazungula still has to be organized. On site, Saskia and Rike will find out where and from whom the milking buckets can be obtained. They are also to check the agreed hygiene measures and the structural improvements to the building where the milk is bottled and cooled.

We are grateful for your continued helpful support of our project. The IBAN of the association’s account at Berliner Volksbank is
